Pocket Guide to Debugging by Julia Evans
I love debugging and I love making it fun!! This zine really gets me regarding that. It has good advice, formulated and formatted in a way that works nicely for my brain. I printed it out and now it's a little booklet laying on my work desk :D
What is Code Review for? by glyph
A very soothing read, in a way. The more "AI" tools are introduced as part of the developer experience, the more I feel something inside me rebelling and going "that's not what it's all ABOUT!!!". Because developing as part as a team is such a HUMAN experience and all about developing an understanding for the code base AND for each other - how we tick and what we find important. And learning from each other! Discovering new stuff together!! When we let "AI" tools code or write documentation for us or find supposed answers to issues we have, we miss opportunities to deepen our understanding and sharpen our skills! And there's no MEANING behind it, damnit!! How am I supposed to argue with a glorified chatbot, IT HAS NO INTENT!!! ...... Anyway. Good blog article. Made me think quite a bit.
